Description

Hello and welcome to my first tutorial!!!

Today I´ll show you how to sculpt a realistic looking skull (and later the body) made of polymer clay.

This is my first tutorial (so please apologize if not everything is correct) and I decided to make not a classic tutorial how you can find here on dA, because I wanted you see clearly every step.

This pic shows the tools you´ll need:
:bulletorange: a plier
:bulletorange: aluminium foil
:bulletorange: a craft knife
:bulletorange: a medium and a small knitting needle
:bulletorange: a divider with two needles (I created this one myself :D )
:bulletorange: wires (you´ll need that later for the body)
:bulletorange: a felting needle
:bulletorange: a soft brush
:bulletorange: thin wire (for the body too)
:bulletorange: super glue
:bulletorange: ... and of course polymer clay

TIPS:

- wash your hands before sculpting with polymer clay.

- use a kitchen roll for drying your hands, not a towel!!!!!

- Wear old and comfortable clothes, but they should not lose fibres!!! Once in they clay, it´s nearly impossible to remove them!!

- clean your working place and the floor, before you start. Like the fibres the dust will get into the clay and make it dirty.

- you should work in a warm room, with cold hands the clay will not work

- the tools should be used ONLY for polymer clay!!!! Don´t use any things that get in touch with food!!

- for baking you can use your kitchen oven, but remember to clean it thoroughly after you baked the polymer clay in it. Please follow the instructions by the manufacturer.
I use a little oven only for baking polymer clay
